August 22

We had a 90th birthday dinner in Tucson for our dad Saturday night. Tom was not able to attend in person, due to his 30 day hospital stay. It broke our hearts not to have him there. We set up a Zoom meeting and he was at least able to participate somewhat. Fortunately, Dr. Jake had flown in to surprise grandpa. He made a wonderful stand-in for his pops.

  1. I was privileged to be at the party–crowded, but so fun! My vehicle was loaded with stuff afterwards. A volunteer and myself just got a lot of that stuff ready for Hope of Glory’s outreach to the homeless next Sat. In honor of Bernie, 90 hygiene bags were assembled by the 6 kids. What a TREASURE for our homeless friends! Thank you so much Burbas, but particularly Bernie who’s 90 years have been full of helping others–and it is great to still have you around!

Tom, your dad is a hard act to follow, but I believe you also will be with us for a loooooooooooong time!
